Guess what we had for dinner thrice in the last two weeks? That’s right! Burnt Garlic noodles, burnt garlic noodles and more burnt garlic noodles! I want to say I am really done eating this and I can have no more! But every time my-obsessed with this-noodle-dish-husband suggests (read, begs) it for dinner, I cave. Then, I think, well, it’s not bad and then serve it onto my plate and my tummy, brain, heart (I swear, most of the times, these three are never in agreement!) just want more!
How is that possible? Having to look at the same thing at your dinner table over and over again and not being repulsed by it? You, guys! I am not talking about my husband, I mean the noodles 😛 May be, this is what you call LOVE? Love for burnt garlic noodles, eh? 😀 Well, if you are going to bed with a smile, you must be doing something right. This time I mean both dinner and marriage 😛 I promise that was my last double take for the day. I just had t get it out of my system!
The thing that makes this recipe special is the step where the garlic and chilies cook and rest in the hot oil where the just seem to ooze their flavors into the oil. Of course, you can buy chilli garlic oil from a store but nothing beats the fresh flavors, the crunchy brown garlic bits, the toasty red chili peppers and the warm oil that coats each noodle from one end to another.
Add to these silky noodles, a silky yolk sauce from a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up, you are going to dive in face-first into your dinner plate!
If you just read the above said words and are not heading to the kitchen (or grocery store to buy noodles); I must say “boy! You are sure made of stone.” Or may be you are strong-willed?? Can somebody explain what that is because I just stopped typing to go make a bowl of noodles for myself!
BTW, I forgot to mention it is a super easy to make! I type this after licking my bowl clean 😛
